Issues brought up during open forum:

-Lighting on campus, specifically the science quad, is too sparse

-There needs to be a Blue Light in the Science Quad

-SEC not being funded for new movie screenings (please email the ORC Chair, Jeanju Choi jychoi@smith.edu for further information! She is more than willing to explain/discuss what happened… while maintaining confidentiality, of course)

Announcements:

• Elections are coming up. Please go to www.smith.edu/voting to sign up to run for a position!
• The Elections and Appointments committee have proposed changes to “The Elections Rules and Guidelines” document. Please read through the attachment your wonderful Senators send to you so that you can voice your concerns/approval. These changes will be voted on in the next meeting.

I would really love to receive submissions for the “Question of the Week” that your Senators have been posting in the houses-this way we can have more constructive conversations about things that you find concerning. Please email your Senators or me, Gussie Gronquist (agronqui@smith.edu), if you have any ideas or suggestions to be raised in Senate.

Senate meets every Tuesday from 7-9pm in CC103/104. It is an open forum. We want to hear from you!
